When I started this blog a few months ago, I vowed to keep it up no matter what. Well, I meant well, but that just didn’t happen. So what did happen? Life, unfortunately. Soon after starting the blog, I went back to work full-time in late October. After being unemployed for 9 months, I was not very organized and not prepared for how tired I would be. I was sent out-of-state for two weeks of training and then back for more training on the job. Then, I had a two-week vacation over Thanksgiving to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. Not long after returning in December, I got sick and was down for another week. In between, I tried to get ready for Christmas. Yesterday was New Years and I just now feel like I have my head above water. The worst part of everything is that I sorely neglected my blog. And I love my blog! It took me so long to be brave enough to start it and I was just getting the hang of it when things just started coming at me. I can’t say that I will never neglect it again but I hope I don’t, especially for as long as I have.
One of the things I have managed to do in the last week or so is to start a list of my goals for 2017. Number one on the list is keeping up with the blog and hopefully making new friends and continuing my creative journey. I have never been one to make resolutions and I rarely have kept up with them for any length of time. However, I feel that I am part of a bigger brighter world that is the Blogosphere. It is more than a resolution, it is a dream and a goal and a joy. It is hard to explain the sense of accomplishment I feel when I press “Publish” on a blog post. I have only been at it a very short time but it gives me a sense of pride and purpose. I know…yada, yada, yada!! OK, enough of my excuses, now on to my plans.
I plan on getting my life more organized (HAHAHA!) OK, I plan on thinking about getting organized. I follow some blogs that do nothing but teach people to be organized. I will be trying out more than just a few tips and ideas from them.
I plan on finishing my 4,000 projects that I have started. OK, it’s not quite 4,000 but when I’m thinking about which one I should start first, it seems like it. Just to give you an idea of how bad I am, I started writing and working on projects over a year before I actually started my blog. I wasn’t very good at finishing the projects. However, the good news is that I have so many started, I have plenty of post topics!
I plan on junking more, gardening more, crafting more and cooking more in 2017. Ya, those are the easy ones. But they still count, don’t they?
I plan on making more friends, following more blogs and learning new things in 2017. Ok, that is easy, too.
Well, the good thing is that if I don’t finish the hard stuff, I will still have a whole bunch fun! I guess I can’t ask for more than that!
